Sleeves are a part of a
garment that wholly or partly covers a person's arm. Sleeves have been used as
a device for changing the silhouette of garment throughout the history of
fashion. Sleeves add an extra charm in look of the wearer. It gives a unique
style and attractiveness as well as provides comfort to the wearer. Sleeves are
very important part of any attire because it draws maximum attention. There are
many different types (styles) sleeves. Down below are some very popular ones.

* Cap Sleeve
Cap Sleeve
Cap Sleeve is very
short sleeve with a curved hemline which only covers shoulder area. The sleeve
cap seam line can extend around part or all of the armhole seam line. The cap
sleeve is a classic sleeve with a high sleeve cap and works best in classic
armhole that is not dropped off the shoulder. This sleeve looks good on
pear-shaped body.
Kimono Sleeves
Kimono
sleeves are loose, reaching anywhere from the elbow to the wrist. It looks
perfect on hourglass shape and pear shape body.
Dolman Sleeves
Dolman sleeve is a long sleeve that starts at
the armhole, tapers towards the elbow and then fits tightly till the
wrist.
It’s best for heavy upper arms, pear-shaped and Square shaped body type.
Bishop

Bell
Sleeves
A
bell sleeve can be either long or short and is
usually set smoothly into the armhole (no pleating or shirring) and flares
toward the bottom, where it is gathered into a band, or cuff, by shirring or by
smocking. The effect is reminiscent of a bell in its shape.
Puffed Sleeves
Puffed
sleeve, balloon shape at the top of arms which create puff at the shoulder line.
This Sleeves Come in any length and ideal for pear shaped and square shaped
body type. Puff sleeve always like by everyone and it is found on long &
short sleeves.
Leg of mutton
The leg-of-mutton
sleeve is constructed with a full top that is gathered into the armhole. The
fabric then tapers gradually to tuck in closely at the wrist, which gives the
sleeve the bell-shaped outline, just like a leg of mutton. This type of sleeve
was first seen in 1824, but eventually made a comeback in the swinging days of
the 1890s and even in the 21 century.
